Last Updated: 4 November 2026

1. Introduction

Soniferous is a mobile application offering a curated collection of field recordings, natural environments, and immersive nature soundscapes.

Soniferous is owned and operated by A State Of Flo ("we", "us", or "our").

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the Soniferous mobile application ("Soniferous" or "the App").

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your information responsibly in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

This Privacy Policy applies to users of Soniferous on Apple iOS and Android devices.

2. Information We Collect

Soniferous is designed to provide access to nature recordings and soundscapes without requiring users to create a separate account.

We do not use analytics or crash-reporting tools within the App.

However, certain information may be processed by third-party services necessary to provide the App's functionality.

2.1 Subscription Information

Soniferous offers an annual subscription through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Subscriptions are associated with the user's Apple or Google account.

When you purchase or manage a subscription, Apple or Google processes your transaction through your respective platform account.

We use RevenueCat, a subscription management service, to help manage and verify subscription entitlements.

Information processed in connection with subscriptions may include:

  • Subscription status and entitlement.

  • Subscription product identifier.

  • Purchase and renewal status.

  • Transaction identifiers.

  • App user identifiers used for subscription management.

  • Information necessary to verify access to subscription content.

RevenueCat may process purchase-related information and identifiers to provide subscription management services.

Apple and Google process payment information in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

We do not directly collect or store your full payment card details.

2.2 Audio Content and Downloads

Soniferous provides field recordings and nature soundscapes that can be streamed or downloaded to your device.

Audio recordings downloaded through the App are stored locally on your device, allowing you to access downloaded content without an active internet connection, where supported.

Audio content is hosted and delivered using Amazon Web Services (AWS).

When you stream or download recordings, AWS and associated infrastructure may process technical information necessary to deliver the requested content. This may include IP addresses, network information, and details of the requested audio content.

Downloaded recordings are stored locally on your device and are not intended to identify you personally.

2.3 Technical Information

We do not use analytics or crash-reporting services to collect information about your usage of Soniferous.

However, technical information may be processed by our infrastructure providers as necessary to deliver audio content, maintain security, and operate the App.

Such information may include IP addresses and technical request information.

3. How We Use Information

Information processed in connection with Soniferous is used for the following purposes:

  • Providing access to field recordings and nature soundscapes.

  • Streaming and downloading audio content.

  • Verifying subscription entitlements.

  • Managing access to subscription features.

  • Maintaining the functionality and security of the App.

  • Responding to customer enquiries.

  • Complying with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use personal information to display advertising.

We do not use analytics or crash-reporting tools within Soniferous.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Soniferous offers an annual subscription providing access to subscription content and features.

Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store using the account associated with the relevant platform.

Subscription payments, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are managed by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective terms and policies.

RevenueCat is used to manage subscription entitlements and verify subscription access.

We may process subscription-related information necessary to determine whether a subscription is active and to provide access to the relevant content.

We do not have access to your full payment card details.

You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple or Google account settings, as applicable.

Cancelling a subscription generally prevents future renewal but does not necessarily remove access before the current subscription period expires.

5. Local Storage and Audio Downloads

Soniferous allows users to download recordings and soundscapes for local playback.

Downloaded audio files are stored on your device.

These files may remain available until you delete them, remove the App, or otherwise manage your device storage.

Audio content may also be streamed directly from our infrastructure.

Where audio content is streamed or downloaded, technical information necessary to deliver the content may be processed by AWS.

6. Advertising and Tracking

Soniferous does not display third-party advertisements.

We do not use personal information to deliver targeted advertising within the App.

We do not sell personal information to advertising networks or data brokers.

Soniferous does not use analytics or crash-reporting tools.
